A couple of sketches

I try to bring pen and paper with me wherever I go, to write down ideas and doodle around. I feel kind of naked without them, even when I know I probably won’t have a chance to use them. You never know, right? Sometimes I overdo it and look like I’m moving to another country, carrying big bags full of notebooks and tools and reference materials. But I try to keep it simple: often a couple of pens and a few sheets of paper folded into my pocket are enough, and even help me focus on capturing quick ideas on the move, that I can develop later at home.

Anyway, here are a couple of quick caricatures of real people that I drew this week, on the bus and at work:

This is a young girl I’ve seen a couple of times around work. She has looks and style (I drew her from memory and don’t feel that I did her justice, maybe next time), and on top of that I believe she might be a scientist… how cool is that?

In spite of what I said, these two teenage guys looked and acted cartoony enough that they left me doubting they were real… They wouldn’t stop laughing and acting silly. I couldn’t quite capture how crazy and funny they were. They were adorably nerdy.

And that’s it for this Sunday edition, folks. Have fun!
